WHY 5.7 ROUNDS?

When Joel Godett was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes one of his first questions was "what is a normal blood sugar level?"

​

The answer was that every person is different and when you have T1D you're certainly far from normal.  That wasn't good enough.

​

The doctor said that anything below 5.7% was considered non-diabetic or "normal."  Well, the body doesn't regulate itself when you have T1D, but that became Joel's goal: Normal.  He wasn't going to reach it, but that would be the target.

​

With that in mind, the WOD for the T1D Takedown is 5.7 rounds for time, creating a uniqueness to the workout, its purpose and the event.
